Instruments & FX
Instruments
Generally speaking it is a good idea to bring your own instruments with you, however if this is not posible the studio has a number of items available for use when needed. These include a Samick electric
guitar, a Yamaha acoustic guitar and a De-Ville bass.
Amps and fx
The studio has a Digitech 2112 tube guitar preamp and multi-effects processor, this is the best sounding guitar unit
we have ever heard (and believe me we've recorded most of
them). When recording a guitar using the studio rig we use
the 2112 to create the valve tone and fx, then run directly
through a Peavey amp as a Cab (bypassing all the amp channel
and eq stages).
Bass guitars are typically recorded using our Drawmer 1969 valve preamp/compressor and are usually then fed directly into the Alesis HD24 recording system. There
is also a 1960s Rock Studio Bass amp.
